A Place to Rest

I feel that wild flowers are so intrinsically linked with a peaceful mind that I chose to showcase them for this project. I loved the quietness and modesty that our native flowers and grasses have, until you look closely and then they reveal themselves as gems woven into a rich and ever changing tapestry. The meadows were laid out in regimented borders linking the new landscape with its productive past and creating paths of mown grass to link to the softer looser areas. Within this landscape I wanted to create an area of ornamental meadow planting, using garden varieties of those growing in the meadow, the contrast between the two seemed to elevate each of them, the wild flowers becoming more restful and the ornamental more vibrant and stimulating.
